I’m asking this on your blog and not in a separate email so others can learn too: are there any resources (books, websites, etc.) – besides yours of course – that you would recommend for learning about marketing strategy and UX design? specifically related to social media would be ideal, but general online marketing is fantastic too. basically, someone from a company I’d Love to work for said I should specialize in strategy and/or UX, but so I’d like to get a little geeky on these fields, and read more. I’ll take my answer on the interwebs

Really interesting post. The econ views are so simple sounding, I think the insight almost slips by…upon reflection, it turns out to be some pretty deep stuff. Sounds like a cool gig. hope it is fun!

We want to be able to put people in some neat little package so we can “get” who they are. Back when I was waiting tables at RJ Grunts with a lot of really cool women in Chicago, patrons were always asking us “what do you do?” (assuming we “did” something besides what we were in fact doing). I loved the response my friend Leslie gave: “I’m an artist, a student, a mother, a lover, a cook…..” Some of us aren’t that easy to “get”.
