		<description>Nice post.  I think it&#039;s telling that you used the abbreviation &quot;QT&quot; when speaking about interaction with real people in your life.  We all want to be able to spend that time, but as technology and connections become more instantaneous, so does the amount of work we have to do.  Because I &lt;i&gt;can&lt;/i&gt; get emails while I work on a document while I&#039;m chatting with someone, I am expected (and do!) answer them immediately.

Work may not define everything, but I think a lot of the &quot;efficient relationships&quot; you wrote about are a reaction to the amount of time and mental capacity that the average, technology-enhanced day takes up.

As you and I have said before, whether this is good or bad remains to be seen. :)
