Travel Schedule + Meeting Up

April 28, 2007 – 7:33 pm

New Schedule

[updated schedule: bummer, but we are no longer doing such a major Canadian tour...I'm heading to Montreal for the Jazz Festival with some friends. I may have one night or a couple of hours on the Friday for a lunch and/or meetings. I'll still be in Calgary, though. :)]

[I've gotten loads of use out of this awesome site, Dopplr -- thanks to Stowe for the invite! As soon as they stop being irritating and choking the invites, I'm sure it will be even better.]

Lots more travel coming up for me…we just got back from Portland (spoke at their local tech conference, Innotech, visited CubeSpace, the Portland Coworking facility, met up with an amazing BarCampPortland group and had a wonderful fun-packed 2 days), but are off again next week to go to Mix 07 (Chris is repeating his SXSW panel, Getting Unstuck) for a couple of days. While there, that crazy Whurley guy has ignited a wee BarCampMixer on the Monday night that should be a good time. :)

Then, next week, I’m off solo to Wellington, New Zealand, where I’ll be speaking 3x (one workshop, one session and one keynote) to the GOVIS delegates. I’m really excited because on the Thursday night (May 10th), the local social geek & entrepreneurial community is organizing a geek dinner. When I know more details, I’ll definitely post them here. I’ve been chatting to the fine folks at Webstock and Silicon Welly, thanks to the orchestration of Justine Sanderson, an Aucklander who will be up in Wellington while I’m there who is spearheading the Coworking movement in NZ.

No sooner am I back, but we are jetting off to New York to attend the Personal Democracy Forum - sticking around a day or two more to meet up with folks at Crayon, Blip.tv, etc.

After that, I’m sticking close to home until late June. If you are in any of the places I’m traveling to, I’d love to meet up.

    Hello Tara,

I see Calgary on you list (July 2nd for 3 days). If you are having public speaking engagement or meeting up with local blogger, I would love to join in the fun if I can.

    Cheers,
    Kempton

    Hey Kempton,

I’m actually in town to visit my Mom & Dad and renew my TN1 visa, so no big plans yet…but if you’d like to set something up, I’d be delighted!

CRIKEY! I won’t complain about my busy schedule this Spring; you’re all of the the place.

I look forward to seeing you an Chris at MIX. I’m really interested to see how well Microsoft really sticks to the ideas they’re spouting about the conference.

Try to have some fun with your travels and make sure you post some photos.

That looks like Teh Awesome. Don’t know if you get your own invites, but I’d be much obliged if you could invite me. Alternately, I can go harass Stowe.

    Hey Darren,

I would invite you, but they’ve totally choked the invites…they gave me 4 so far, 2 at a time and I have a list of, like, 20 people who are dying to try.

    Rrrrrrr. Now 21. :)

    Hey Tara,

I would love to meet of course but I do feel a dash of guilt by taking up your time with your parents as I am sure they are missing their #1 daughter. (smile)

Feeling guilty aside, please let me know date and time will work for you? And any preference in location? I will try to spread the words in Calgary (if thats what you like) and tell others that my favourite blogger is in town and see if a crowd can be gathered. Just so you know, our first ever DemoCamp in Calgary had about 20 people attending so the crowd is definite no where near SF or TO size yet.

I am excited as I am looking forward to an insightful chat,
    Kempton

No worries, I’ll blog about my eagerness to try out their shiny new thingy and hopefully they’ll notice.

If your stay in NYC extends to 5/21, I am going up for Francois Gossieaux’s Enterprise 2.0 Rave. I hope to meet up with Euan Semple and Steve Rubel while there. If you are still around, join the fun.

Hey Tara - would love to meetup in NYC - I want to go to the Personal Demo - but no one will reply from the conference to my emails!

Let me know if you have some time to get together.

Hi, Tara. Sent you an e-mail a couple of days ago about hooking up in San Fran June 12 - 15. Looks like you are in town, do you have some time? Would like to meet you and other Web 2.0 Canucks for some fun and biz.

    Thanks.

Let me know when you’ll be in NYC. I haven’t seen you in a million years!

Yeah, a Calgary meet would be good.

Tara: What kind of venue would you prefer? (the sooner we book it the better, given the space crunch here.) Would you want to do a talk/presentation, a circle discussion, just casual chatter, or something else?
