And, in follow up to the last post, ask yourself:
Do you want to be the sort of company that delivers artificial happiness or that helps people find real happiness?
Remember:
- The latter is difficult, takes time and is less lucrative than the former.
- There is no reliable way to ‘measure’ the latter.
- The latter is about thinking longer term.
- The latter is where you will find community and loyalty and rewards that are irreducible.
I heart Ivan Storck’s quote from Brandweek:
…there is a triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit, and the people part of the equation must come first. “Sustainability means more than being eco-friendly,†he said. “Sustainability also means you’re in it for the long haul.â€
It all depends on what makes you happy, too.
