As the new year approaches…and knowing that I must make some major changes in my life, I hereby publish the very first official list of resolutions to my blog:
- I will go to the gym at least 2x per week
- I will move to a new apartment that Chris, Tad and I can call home (paint, settle in, etc.)
- I will spend more time with Tad (we’re bringing him to Europe with us…excited about that)
… but just him and I - I will start those french lessons
- I will work less than 50 hours per week (counting work events)
- I will start saving money again - at least $200/month
- I will eat better - no more meals at my desk + cut back on the carb intake
- I will get healthcare insurance and take better care of myself
- I will finish my research on healthy communities - case studies and all & post it to the Pinko Marketing blog
- I will not stay past 7 pm at the office more than 1x per week
- I will do something with my Women Who Risk list - even just a gathering or two…
- I will post to my blog at least once per day
Okay…it’s out there…now I have to do it. ![]()

Take it from this ancient guy… Too many rules and we end up not following through when working from a rules based frame.
I wonder if you might take a few moments of quiet time and think about YOU! and want YOU! want to experience and accomplish is 2007. You may delightfully discover that your dreams and desires are far more powerful motivators for bringing to life what YOU! WANT!!
J. Paul Getty was right: “When you’re healthy, you’ve got a million problems. When you’re not healthy, you’ve got only one problem.” Definitely get on that insurance thing.
Also, I don’t see anything on your list about faith. No matter what your religion, just 10-20 minutes of prayer / meditation can enlarge your day.
Tara - you might checkout Blue Cross Blue Shield - when I left the big corp. am. job, I found an excellent plan with them for just over $100 a month (no dental) - not sure how that works when you have a family, but there are lots of plan options. Good Luck!
That’s a great little list there Tara. If you’re interested, there’s always the diet for some motivation ;^)
Also, from the looks of things in the list most if not all of these are things that Tara wants Sheamus. To questionably quote an old saying, you go girl :^)
Hey Tara,
if you’re really into learning french don’t hesitate, contact me, I’m french and I would love to help learn french. Like Adam, of course I’ll do this for free. If you’re interested, we could use skype and start whenever you want. Au revoir
Talk to you soon
Jeremy.
Check off health insurance! I love, love love Bob, my health insurance broker. I got a referral to him from the state info line (my COBRA coverage was unexpectedly cancelled, and I found out _6 weeks_ later). Bob volunteers with the info program. I was insured, under budget, with the very specific plan of my dreams on the day I called him. I believe that writing individual policies is a loss leader for him, so send him group referrals whenever you can. Yay for health!
