think small : the slide show

From Chris and my Gnomedex presentation. It seemed to go over quite well. The presentation in pdf form is here. The presentation in keynote form is here (cc attributtion share-alike licensed).
The night before, we agonized over exactly what we were going to talk about. We wanted it to be positive...hopeful...upbeat...and inspiring. We decided to just run the slideshow in silence so everyone could absorb it and think about it before we started blathering on. The format was quite well-recieved. I think what the silent reading did was made everyone look up from their computers and read and absorb.
The message was simple: think small, act passionately, collaborate...the discussion that ensued was great. Entrepreneurs talking about how they've run their businesses with passion, thinking small. People talking about alternatives to big funding or flipping. Afterwards, we were surrounded with people in the hallway, wanting to discuss how their businesses, big or small, could adopt this philosophy effectively.
Chris has his follow-up on it, too. Thanks to Chris P. and Ponzi for an awesome conference and keeping the people engaged and conference light!
p.s. that amazing background was designed by Chris...I had no idea how hard it was to create a repeating tile...but that presentation and our new logo looks amazing...
