We need a logo for Citizen Agency

A symbol. More than anything we need a symbol. It has to be our own. Not tied to some historical gaff (heh) or another movement. Something that belongs to us.
Something strong. Something that says something about the individual, empowered through the architecture of collaboration. Something that says something about community. Something that says something about you. Me. Chris.
Chris asks (via gTalk on our Blackberries...omg...that's cool):
Like a Batman symbol
What would represent you?
That's the question.
...Okay...so maybe Batman doesn't represent you or me, but superheroes are almost always told as stories of regular people among us, who, by some gift or accident, grow superpowers in order to help regular people overcome bullies and villians. That's why I always loved Spiderman and Superman and Rogue, etc. Even Batman, though he came from a wealthy background, donned his suit to fight for the common man.
So, yeah. Like a Batman symbol. Or Spiderman. Something that people can believe in and trust in.
I know...it's a tall order. Oh...and here is a little bit about what Citizen Agency is all about. But it's a work in progress and will evolve with experience and feedback.

Well, Batman speaks to first cohort babyboomers ...
But, the light shines up and only one person or two people respond. Are there more people?
There are...but they will all have their own symbols because we are all independents here. ;)
You have more faith in mankind than I do :-) But your belief in our abilities is refreshing. Maybe a symbol that shows rebirth or renewal would help capture this idea.
PS.
I'm sending you this link just to say, I applaud what you and Chris (?) are doing to create a environment for collaboration. Fight on!
A definition of social entrepreneurs
http://www.ncrel.org/tech/pace2/Keeping_Pace2.pdf
Social entrepreneurs include creative, dedicated, committed, and seeking fundamental change. Social entrepreneurs often are able to recognize trends, work across disciplines, and see opportunities across disciplines by making connections that others have not made. An additional common trait is a single- minded belief and confidence in their cause, their approach, or their solution to a problem.
A social entrepreneur "…has a very special trait -- someone who, in the core of her/his personality, absolutely must change an important pattern across his/her whole society." It is only the entrepreneur who literally cannot stop until he or she has changed the whole society.
Thanks Martie!
What an awesome definition! I love it.

How about a simple oval? It's inclusive, like a set. It's open, like an O. It's similar to an egg, the birthplace of identity.
I'm no marketeer -- just an idea.
My only request in your quest for the perfect logo/symbol....
Pay for it.
Whether its a friend and you buy him/her dinner (prerably many of them), or you hire a Class A design and branding firm and sell your first born to do it. All I ask is that you pay for it. Don't ask for design work on spec or because its for a good cause.
Spec work, free rides cut the legs out from under designers. It hurts an industry, while it helps only you.
Here's a nice little blog post that might help you understand a bit more where I am coming from.
I know this is an overly used icon - but Citizen Agency strikes me as a police badge. Harken back to Dragnet?
my 2¢.
one first attempt have fun
Now citizen agency is a name that I like. Somehow modest yet with allusion s to superhero-ness while implicity collaborative / we2.0 ish.
clever.
logo thought: a swoosh from a phone booth?
