BarCampSF starts tonight
Two hours until the doors open on the kick off party for BarCampSF...there are almost 300 people on the wiki...and we are putting the final touches on the planning.
Planning for what? Well, it's our job to set the scene for a bunch of really interesting people to get together and make magic. A blank slate. A space. Food. Drinks. Basic living arrangements so noone starves or the like. But nothing else.
I'm excited about it. Exhausted, but excited! ;)
Thanks so much to our amazing sponsors:
Microsoft - Nima, you rock and have put so much into this event, including the incredible space at 1 Market Street (with 8 fully loaded presentation rooms).
Automatic & Laughing Squid - Scott and Matt are keeping it real sponsoring tonight's libations
No Starch Press - without breakfast Saturday, we would have grumblies in our tumblies - you rock, Tyler!
Ritual Roasters - Eileen will be there in person to serve her amazing brew and, hopefully, tell us the story behind Ritual
WilmerHale - Joyce and Gina have worked hard to make sure Saturday lunch is covered - maybe Gina will teach us with our own startups how to set them up legally.
Simpli Hosting - Ice Cream was Erica's idea last year, which was uber popular, so she's bringing it back!
Wink & Edgeio - thanks to Micheal, Keith, Peter and Michele for putting together a pizza feast for Saturday night!
GoingOn Networks - Bernard has bought the bagels and cream cheese for our Sunday morning brekkie!
SmugMug - Sunday's lunch is being organized right now by Don at SmugMug. Can't wait!
Of course, then there is Belkin, who is supplying the power strips, and all of the individuals and small business owners who have put their time and energy into making this happen!
Thanks to Tantek, Chris, Kevin, and Kitt and our amazing volunteers for making this happen. Let the weekend begin!
