At Vloggercon

And it is rockin. There is an IRC channel (on Freenote - #vloggercon)...

Man...I love the Swedish American Hall. It brings me right back to the beginning...when I was pretty new to the city...knew hardly anyone at all. Webzine. It's where I looked around and I saw all of these amazingly smart, talented people, gathering for this weekend. I kept thinking to myself, "Egad, I'm so not cool enough to fit in here."

Now all of these people are my friends. And many of them are here. Again. Talking 'bout the revolution.

This is the ultimate in citizen media - I'm now going into a session on editing in iMovie and Final Cut Pro (don't own...yikes $1300!). This videoblogging could get pricey. ;)

I suspect you'll find FinalCut is overkill for a Video Blog - If you're just going to be doing straight cuts and nothing too fancy in the titling department you'll probably find even the free editors that come with Windows or MacOS will suffice. Especially while you're first trying things out.

Thanks to sites like YouTube and such as well you don't need to be a master of the "compression arts" anymore either to make the video web friendly - just size it at 320x240 and save at a reasonable bit rate and the Video sites will handle the rest.

iMovie works great for me. I've used for every video on tinkernet.org

I know it's the 'comsumer grade' product when compared to Final Cut Pro, but you can get creative and push the limits pretty far.
