In Bangalore: BarCamp Bangalore this Weekend!

Chris Waits for our ride
Here is Chris waiting for Nagaraj to come and pick us up. We were totally, completely lost in Bangalore, seriously jet-lagged and very excited to be here.

Excited because this weekend, we get to attend BarCamp Bangalore! There are nearly 200 people on the wiki already, several people flying in for this (including Alex Muse) and an amazingly organized team planning this. In short, we are totally pumped!

Thanks to Riya for bringing me here and sponsoring the BarCamp dinner! Now...I have to get back to work, so Chris and I may actually be able to get out and see some of Bangalore while we're here. ;)

This picture personifies the previous "marketing is evil" post. Behind Chris is HSBC .. a British bank, with a Chinese name, in Bangalore.
"The world's local bank" and "whats your opinion" are their current mantras.

That picture looks a heck of a lot like the driveway of the Divyashree Chambers. Yes?

Divyashree Chambers being the set of buildings that contain: Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Ernst and Young and a few smaller companies.

On my last trip there, I decided that globalization means junkets.

BTW, isn't the traffic in Bangalore just horrible?

I leave for India today. Looking forward to meeting the Riya folks and attending BarCamp. Normally, in the States I would say, "Look for the Indian guy," but that won't work this weekend.

Tara make sure you have multiples of 12$ available everytime you commit crime with your PiC in Bangalore. Apparently Delhi has decided to come down on public smooching. be careful in Bangalore ;-) I love the contradictions in India!

I think ya gotta link that photo back to Flickr in order to be all good with the 'terms of service' and whatnot.

Hey John,

Damn. I never read TOS and I just copy and paste the code they give me (2 options, I pick the simplest). It would probably be a good idea for Flickr to put a little note on that page saying this.

Either that or they don't really get bothered by a blogger using their photos on their blog (I always link back to other photographers).

I figure it's more likely that they would come down on a porn distributor or the like. However, I'll be more careful from now on.

Hey, Tara! Welcome to Bangalore :)

@David Herron:
Yes, the traffic in Bangalore sucks. This city can't take it anymore.

Which part of the States? Certainly not the Bay Area ;)

Somehow seeing "Bangalore," "Toronto," and "hot spot" in the same sentence seems to wrap up a lot of what's going on currently :-)

See you here in the TDot in May, Tara.

Also, let me know if you and Chris can make the dinner I pinged you about.
