Get out of the way
Haven't I said this before? From Slate:

The secret to success is to make everything one-button easy, then get out of the way. [emphasis mine]Although it's probably only part of the massive success of YouTube and MySpace, I agree that it's a big part of it.

I completely agree that one-button ease of use and getting out of the way can help to make great sites, but surely MySpace doesn't achieve this? There's usually two pages and at least two button clicks for every action on the site (add friend, etc). Mike says as much in his article about MySpace's page views.
