do you think nbc and cbs would have pressed youtube to remove citizen submitted video if they had received a cut of the advertising revenue made on those pages?
me neither.
so if it was *monetized* correctly and fairly, then the findability of such uploads in question would increase exponentially.
in the end, we all benefit -- especially, in the future, citizen content creators. shit, people uploading their personal video to youtube and google *right now* should get a cut of the action.
i know where you're coming from -- the business side sometimes makes me numb as well -- but it's a necessary evil. and in this decentralized, semantic world we're moving towards, it could empower so many people in the process.
