DEMO 2006: The future of security

Seriously, we're effed. Some brilliant people up there who are security experts who are saying (in my words):

It's futile. Your effed.

Okay, so maybe they aren't that doom and gloom, but they are saying that nothing is ever 100% secure. The best we can do is to try to keep up and find and prosecute the 'bad guys' post-crime.

Here is my defense (and my buddy the Head Lemur, who I finally got to meet in person today, will appreciate):
  1. Make my 'identity' undesireable to steal.
  2. Keep the credit cards maxxed out without any hope of an increase. Can't get far with that. ;)
  3. Be as public as I possibly can be. Seriously. Imagine trying to steal Paris Hilton's identity. (okay, I have a way to go on this strategy)
  4. If all else fails, I'll manufacture a few extra identities to fall back on...oh wait...that makes the problem cyclical.
Really, it's time to get used to it. We need a better strategy.
