Maryam, there are plenty more reasons to date geeks...
Maryam has some awesome reasons why girls should go for geeks, but I don't think she covered them all, so here I go (and this is from a geekgirl perspective):
1. You know that competition they have with gadgets? Well, that seeps into the rest of their lives. They want the best new technology, the best new cars, they'll only eat the best food (not surprisingly, I've found out that loads of geeks are also 'foodies'), drink the best wine, they buy the best and biggest of everything, because...
2. They order stuff online. Yep. There is something about ordering online that makes the purchases fancier. Perhaps it is the price comparisons available? The ease? The nonchalantly typing in a credit card #?
3. There are multiple ways to 'connect' with a geek. Forget just the telephone or in person (although you still have that). There are those sweet little ' text messages during the day, the ocassional 'xoxo howz ur day?' IMs, those forwarded emails and 'beta invites' that shows how much they want you to be part of their lives...sigh...a girl gets multiple levels of attention from a geek.
4. Not only can they 'fix' stuff, but they can teach you to fix stuff. I consider myself pretty darn savvy, but since dating a geek, I've become 10x savvier.
5. You always know what your geek is up to. This is sort of related to #3, but you drive this one. You can see your geek check-in with Dodgeball and Plazes, see him in action on Flickr, check into what he's interested in on del.icio.us, catch hints for birthday presents and where his mind is at in several other places (his blog, 43things, yahoo!shoposphere, etc.).
6. When you start dating a geek, you can do a full-on background check of him very easily. The good bad and the ugly. It's all there in a simple Google search, augmented by a Technorati and Riya search. What his ex-girlfriends look like (if that matters), what his accomplishments have been, silly things he has done, etc
7. Okay, so maybe most of them don't really know how to dress themselves. They are perpetually stuck in schwag t-shirts, jeans and sneakers. That's okay, because when you have that rare ocassion on which they DO dress up, it's soooo hot...ai ai ai...hubba hubba. Sigh. And you know they really like you...;)
8. They can bring you da links. Maryam has a stellar example of a blogospherically advantageous romance, but even someone who isn't an A-lister can introduce your work to a whole new audience. And remember, links = love
9. Geeks try a little harder. Well, the ones I met have. I think it's because they are so darned intense in the first place. Or maybe because they feel guilty about the whole attention deficit thing. Whatever it is, when you have their attention, you really have their attention.
10. Geeks are more patient. Whether they get it from sitting in front of computers writing hundreds of lines of code to create a fraction of a program or the t-shirt and jean culture they work in day to day (more casual), geeks seem to take everything in stride. I'm a high maintenance girl and get a little moody from time to time. I find geeks' logical problem solving ways are very effective in getting me beyond my bitchiness and back to reality.
...of course there are waaaaaay more than this and, being a geekgirl, I just really appreciate someone I can discuss what I'm passionate about with. I also adore just sitting across from one another, laptops popped open, working away on our own, sharing the space...it's lovely.

Awesome. This is totally why I dig dating geekgirls. Cute pictures of factoryjoe too!
Well geek girls already know to date geeks. And there's the problem. When I meet non-geek girls I can't google them. I get a high school reunion notice and that's about it. And they won't Google me because all they know about Google is that it's driving up real estate prices around Menlo park.
It's a goddamned digital divide, I tell ya.
Then again it probably means I can write what I *really* think in my blog and they won't see it for several years, if ever.
you don't have to motivate a geek and they're always happy - because they love what they are doing in their life..
I don't know about you, but it makes me relax..
and ohh you can always have him build nifty stuff for you projects *s*
Great reasons. Here are a few more.
1. Intelligence is Sexy. I can learn from my geek. He keep smy attention with a wide range of enlightening conversations and heated debates.
2. Curiosity and Inquisitiveness. Geeks are willing and eager to learn from me. He asks questions if he doesn’t understand things and doesn’t make assumptions. That’s good for relationships and sex.
3. Attitude and Passion. Geeks have confidence, attitude, and a passion for their careers and deep knowledge. I admire their commitment and ability to work in a field they enjoy.
Nice, that's pretty much true about EVERY geek.
Even though variables are cool and everthing, there are some constants in a geeks life, and you only touched on quite a few of them.
For exaple, instead of checking out other girls, we're more interested in checking out the kick ass new tech gadgets.
