Yahoo! and the 'Me'conomy

ookmarking shopping items? Boy...is my credit in peril!
TechCrunch points us to the Yahoo! Shoposphere, where users can bookmark, tag and even revenue share (coming) their 'wish lists'. I think about the possibilities of this for us 'modern' shoppers: gift registries not locked into a specific store (or stores), holiday wish lists, easily perused by friends and family, more opportunities for bloggers and other site publishers to make a little extra cash off of their labour...
RSS feeds, email updates and publishable pick-lists make it uber simple to keep track of yours and other's picks. Have you ever thought, "Gee, so-and-so has great taste," or "How does so-and-so always know what the latest gadget is to buy?" - you can subscribe to his/her RSS feed and never feel left behind again. I'm, personally, getting a kick out of what Michael considers Web 2.0 gadgets: most applicable, I think is the Donald Trump Wobbler. It's a must have. ;)
The 'Me'conomy is really heating up: the Mechanical Turk, Amazon tags and now the Yahoo! Shoposphere are creating more opportunities for customer evangelists and self-publishers to have collaborative shopping experiences and make a little money doing so.
So...I wonder what all of this means for eBay?

After going through the whole "wedding registry" thing, I wish I had used something like this.
I think it'll affect Amazon more than eBay, especially after eBay's announcement yesterday. All those links to Amazon wish lists on blogs? Gone.
I know I stuck to Amazon when making up my birthday wish list for mom, just because I knew it would make it simple for her (which in turn increases my chances of getting what I want).
