Why I Love Seattle Geeks

Flickr Photo

Spotty Wifi aside, Seattle Mind Camp has been a hoot. The people I've been meeting in Seattle are revved up and turned on by the technology and the changing culture.

I've sat through some amazing sessions discussing the solutions to the same issues: free internet access for all, women in technology, spam, social networks and the power of the consumer.

The only thing missing was the beer (because we all know that Web 2.0 is really all about the beer), but lucky for me, the geeks in my corner are all about bending the rules, so we had a chance to get a little silly after all. ;)

The best part of being part of this, though, is that I get to meet some new and really smart people who, I believe, will be long-time friends.

Thanks again to Andru and his team for organizing a great event!

Lucky there was some silliness. We dont want journalists explaining facial recognition technology applied to web based image communities and their shared monetisation with the infrastructure provider of the service. Just say its fun and free ! Whens the next event Tara ? If you want to come to the long tail camp in melbourne australia on november 11th... you have a couple days rest and couple days to get here !!!! or lets get riya downunder... soon...
