How Journalism Differs from Blogging
Joi Ito gives a good summary on how blogging differs from traditional journalism. Basically, Blogs are (intended to be and by and largely) personal, conversational, casual, simple and opinionated.
Then why is there a blog search engine being launched that measures the amount of 'I's' as a factor* in ranking (I don't know how it will affect the ranking, but I'm assuming negatively)?
Are we trying to be journalists? I hope not. I really suck at being neutral. ;)
*Joi Ito, Doc Searls, Hugh Macleod, Dooce, etc. - all use the first person pronouns frequently.
