I try not to think of the fact that I am, quite often, the only girl at these shindigs...or maybe I somethings do and think, "Gee, I'll use it to my advantage."

But when a perfectly innocent desire to be social with my new contacts (and by social, I mean hang out buddy buddy) gets all When Harry Met Sally on me, it kind of sucks. See, I'm a loser in San Francisco and have no friends. I just want to go dancing or out for beers or whatever and make a confidante or two. Problem solved: I moved into the city!

Where are all of the girl geeks at these things?
