Shelley

When we posted a user testing gig on Craigslist (not alpha or beta for those of you who are waiting, this is really rough stuff) last week, we had some amazing respondents. One of these respondents is Shelley.

Shelley lived in New Orleans up until a couple of weeks ago. Luckily (?), she was already on vacation when it happened...at Burning Man. For those of you who have never been to Burning Man (or, heaven forbid, never heard of it), it's quite a beautiful pagan-ish festival that brings people together in new, amazing ways. I haven't met anyone who has gone and who hasn't come back with amazing stories.

Burning Man organized a Katrina relief section where others there could offer assistance to those who had no homes to return to. Shelley came to San Fran in a 'Turtle Bus' (actually, it's the Green Tortoise bus - a hostel in SF) and is now trying to find ways of making money and restarting her life while kind souls offer her a place to crash.

Today, she is here at Ojos. I gathered all of the links that Jeff Jarvis has put together re: Recovery 2.0, but I don't really know where the official "Job Boards" are. There seems to be oodles of resources south and east of us, but California is lacking.

We're going to send her resume out through the blogosphere and see where it goes (coming soon). It would be great if anyone reading this could carry the thread further.

(btw, Shelley is a very funky individual and has her MFA in computer art and she fits right into SF)
