Memeorandum has a good business model

I was desperately looking out for Gabe tonight at the beginning of the party. Something happened to Memeorandum and I felt like someone had cut me off of my lifeline...

Gabe walks in the room and though I'm in a middle of a conversation, I fly across the room and corner him:

Me: "What's happened to Memeorandum?"
Gabe: "Nothing, what do you mean?"
Me: "My feed stopped last night and I can't get on the page!"
Gabe: "Really? That's weird."
Me: "I'm sure I didn't change anything. Help me, Gabe!"
Gabe: "Wait a minute...you didn't happen to set your aggregator to download new messages every minute, did you?"
Me: "Well, yeah. Is that a problem?"
Gabe (laughing): "I blocked your IP. 1 minute is unusually aggressive."

Okay...so I'm an overly enthusiastic fan of Memeorandum. I love it so much I want all of the news every minute on the minute. Is that wrong?

Tomorrow, I'll change my settings on the desktop to 5 minutes and Gabe will reinstate my priviledges. As he said when asked how Memeorandum is doing: "Great. I cut off all of my most enthusiastic readers regularly."

It's not all that bad, though, from my hotel room I can take a look at it and I see that a discussion I'm involved in made Memeorandum again! Yay!

Hey Tara,

So I lifted the ban, and welcome back! (Well, you said you got to the page somehow, but just in case you use that IP...)

Yeah, this is a fantastic business model. What I need to do now is find some way to block Robert Scoble's IP, and them I'm totally set!
