Could it be?
It looks like we found a place!
It's really amazing. Ken's running to the bank as I type this to get together the money order and FedEx it asap down to me.
I meet with Ryan tomorrow evening to sign everything and give him the money. I feel like collapsing. It's been SUCH a painful journey, but the end result is better than we even expected.
A gorgeous home - perfect size(2+den), perfect location (Upper Haight), perfect specifications (hardwood, allows cats, gas stove, high ceilings, airy), perfect price (you'll read it in the listing, it may not be perfect for the rest of N America, but it's darn reasonable for SF) - and just in the nick of time!
I'm trying not to break down in messy, sobbing, wailing tears. Seriously, I've never had a challenge like this one. It's funny, though, how the more arduous the journey, the sweeter the prize at the end tastes.
[ironically, it was the last house we looked at after seeing close to 40 - and we were pushing time because Ken had to be at the airport in 1 hour and we got stuck in the post-Football game traffic. We half-considered saying, "screw it" because we were exhausted and defeated and the odds of getting there in time and getting back to the airport on time were against us. We are so glad we perservered!]
