Another blogger hired to go wild

Steve Rubel points us to Vespa's blog where they not only hire Neil Barton, a blogger, to test drive and talk about the product, but they, reportedly, say, "Hey, say whatever you like. That's cool."
He, of course, is saying all sorts of nice stuff about the product. We never want to appear ungrateful. ;) Of course, we're objective. Blogging IS a full-time job. This is what I keep telling everyone.
And, in the future, there will be a VP, Conversation, who will oversee the Chief Blogger, the Sneeze Manager, the PodJockey and the Head Schmooze.
We will be the centre of the 'marketing universe' (??) and a new, hotter, more effective means of connecting to the market will be rolling their eyes at us and trying to edge us out.
Yep. Welcome to Marketing 2.0.

Just a technicality: I was not actually hired by Vespa. In other words, I do not get paid. I have a contract to blog with them that simply states I will blog with them, and they may, from time to time, provide me with some perks. But nothing more. To date they have not edited me, but then they new what to expect, as I had been blogging (and still blog) about scootering on my own website http://urbannerd.com. I am just an honest to goodness scooter nut.
Gotcha! Either way, it's a sign o the times!
