Campaign for....ME!!!

So...if I can breathe long enough to finish this post, then I'm halfway there...

Seth Godin has posted this summer intern project:

http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_summer_intern_proje/

(thanks to Miss Carol Ellen, a former 'canoe-mate' of Seth's at Camp Arowhon in Algonquin Park for pointing this out to me...I may have *gasp* missed it if it wasn't for you! Note to self: make certain Seth knows about Carol's referral)

I took one look at the job description and realised that I am a perfect fit [which is an extremely strange thing seeing that I am quite often the proverbial square peg]. Even if I wasn't a perfect fit, though, I would climb EVEREST to convince Seth of my suitability for a position to work with him and bask in his marketing godliness.

For those of you just tuning into my HorsePigCow life uncommon, a quick scan of my former posts will demonstrate my absolute and utter excitement of everything this man has to say. This sometimes may as well be the 'Seth Godin Fanclub' blog...

Anyway, if you didn't follow the link, he is calling for:

What matters is domain knowledge and passion. We’re looking for people with some combination of the following skills:
User interface design
Online graphic design
RSS, CSS and structured HTML
Wide knowledge of what’s interesting and new online.

You don't have to be all of these things. Slightly unbalanced but remarkable is far better, in fact.

It’s the kind of person who has strong opinions about RSS readers, or who can talk intelligently about different search algorithms and feels strongly about the difference between Wordpress and Typepad. This is someone who is personally offended when tables are used incorrectly in HTML.

Perhaps you can set up a wiki in three minutes, have posted corrections to the wikipedia just because you can, and use Linux to prove a point. Of course, you’ve got a blog, and maybe even a podcast.
Okay...so I don't have a podcast, but that's only because I was waiting for my annual bonus to buy myself a swank little iPod so that I could become the online dj of my dreams [but I think that the real-life disco dj experience is pretty significant].

I'd like to think of myself as remarkable. I'm definitely off-balance.

So...since I called y'all here, I need a HUGE favour. Seth's latest masterpiece, "All Marketers are Liars" talks about telling your story. I'd like to have a 360 degree story - one where all of the people I've worked with, loved and butted heads with be totally honest and tell their own version of my story...it may be a scary project, but I'm open to it [besides, I've only openly invited people who are nice].

Please click on the 'comments' link below and tell me I rock, I suck, a funny story, our first meeting, your general impression, general lies and slander or anything else about who you think I am. After I collect all of your impressions, I will create a brand-new bio for myself and that will be my new 'story' going forward.

xo

p.s. He emailed me back and told me I'm cool! I think I have a good chance!

p.p.s. Here is my resume, in case you need to check it out: http://www.horsepigcow.com/tararesume.htm

When I think of Tara, I think of passion and honesty. I've danced up a sweat in my pink latex pants at her Cream Soda Funk events and I found the scene to be unpretentious and F-U-N. I skipped out on attending the Jamie Foxx private soirée and now, of course, I'm kicking myself. I can't imagine Tara promoting something she wasn't 100% behind. Hmmmmm... then again, maybe she's just a very good liar. Tara, darling? Do you really like disco?!? Or were you just pretending? All the best, Ponyta The Pink Cowgirl of Disco Dyke Divas

If Tara were in New Orleans, someone might call her "a hot lil broad" and that would be a good thing. Tara's got a lot of what I like in people personally and professionally: she's passionate and knowledgeable about what she's interested in AND she's receptive and generous regarding other people's interests. That means her abilities and influence extend beyond her own capabilities-- which seems to me the best kind of marketing capability there could be.

Tara is driven. She is the hot mama rollin' down the highway fuelled by an incredible genuine honesty and passion for life. She draws you in because you can sense a sincere keen interest in who you are and what it is you have to say.
Keep on truckn'!

I've told Tara this before, and I'll tell her again and oh, the rest of the world... She exudes style, strength, intelligence and fun, and that's why everyone is drawn to her. I'm so thankful I met her at the Memphis Manifesto!

I have had a crush on Tara since I met her about a year ago. Of course the first time I met her we were both naked, being shot in a mock orgy. Sigh....Tara I have not seen you in ages! Hope to see you around soon.

The first time I met Tara in person, she was streamlined and tailored. Impeccably so. Her clothes I mean. She was wearing a snug button down shirt and it looked to me like it had been freshly pressed. Myself, I'd never owned an iron so needless to say I was impressed by her pressing job.

Then, later on the same day, I met her again. If I had passed her on the street, I wouldn't have recognized her. Decked out in disco-ready heels, a slinky dress that glittered under dance lights, and she'd managed to pull off one of those impossible-to-do hair-dos.

This woman, I remember thinking, is a chameleon.

The shower-and-go-girl inside me wondered, 'how the hell does she whip something like that off?'

We went to a dance club where '70s music blared and bell-bottomed-clad men and women were wiggling and shaking on the floor. Here was a flurry of hipsters who'd mastered the trends of 30-some years past, and in seconds, Tara was at the centre of it all.

Women gravitated toward her. Men gravitated toward her. Of this energy-packed bunch, hers was the most electric, the most curious.

Like me, they wanted to know, 'How the heck does she pull something like this off?'

I find Tara to be incredibly desperate for others to give her attention and insincere flattery.
My hope for Tara is that she will soon abandon her care for how others view her and forge into a fulfilling life where soliciting praise isn't what she is all about.
If you gotta tell people you're cool, you just ain't.

From our very first encounter, Tara's fire for life, boundless amounts of energy and creativity, have been imprinted on my brain as the road mad on how to live a succulent life. I have yet to go the distance but who better a coach to have than Tara? She never ceases to impress, whatever the challenge. That is why no matter who you are or where you're from you can't help but love Tara.

Whoever Catey is obviously doesn't know my girl, Miss Rogue. Nor do you understand the reasoning behind her request for comments.

I would say that Miss Rogue does enjoy being the centre of attention, but she is also good at making her friends feel as if they are the centre of attention, too. She's keepin' it real.

I spent last night reading through her lengthy bloggs (once I learnt how to follow it) and was touched by her honesty and naked truth. I don't always agree with her statements, but I respect them.

And...for the record...I think Miss Rogue is cool.

Blech..

I simply couldn't whore myself this much for ANYONE but hey-
if each of you and Tara need to drone on and on about how great she is and how great she makes you, continue on in your sad sad shallow little world where you suckle on the nectar of false sincerity instead of finding your own identity of self.

Oh and, "keepin' it real" and "You Rock" just aren't said anymore. Ick, you little drone-bots scare me.

Run Seth, Run!

Tara shines, I like her. She is intelligent, creative and captivating. She has the ability to wear many hats in the world of business. I think Seth Godin should definetly consider Tara for an internship in New York. She would compliment his team greatly, besides anyone who has Ken as a partner, lover, friend in my opinion has great taste. Come check out Dallas.
